I spent alot of time there in the summers,my uncle was the manager at the Luckys in Tahoe.

Well get your @$$ on over here man. There are tons of dudes out here and the Rubicon is some awesome wheeling/camping.

I'm right down the mountain could be there in 15 min. Lol my jeep club is doing a run there this month and next month if the weather is ok to see how the snow is doing lol

North lake here.

Alot of snow up here still, the lower elevation trails (that dont gain much elevation) are good to go. Also anything with a river crossing won't be doable till fall. The sierras got murdered by snow this season and the cold spring kept the snowpack from melting.

this is probably the most true statement about south lake. not that I dont love everything else about the place, but its a total sausagefest there. especially in the winter

Hey I can be there in 1 1/2 hours from here. Is Mt Watson trail doable now or Ellis Peak?

Mt Watson might be doable... That area gets less snow and that trail is on the south western slope, meaning the snow would have melted more. There's still probably a few snow fields across the trail.

I've never done Ellis Peak so I couldn't say.
