What kind of area is this? If I understand correctly you can shoot on BLM land too, but only if you have a hunting license--even though you're not hunting.

This is a old what I believe fire road from Idyllwild to Hemet. As you head up from Hemet, within the first 2-3 miles you will come across a huge shooting range area, it does have forestry patrolling it so please do make sure you have proper permits, they do check!

Call the ranger station before you head out to bee canyon,I heard that they were closed to shooting.
Also be aware of your surroundings,a leo said there has been a few robberies keep a loaded side arm on as soon as you park til you are ready to drive off.
The rangers have also been cruising by more often to check for illegal firearms. Just a heads up

Shooting legally? Just a long way to drive for some, if all else fails Hemet jeep club trail(indian truck trail) is fun and/or the creek is cool relaxing spot.

Really? Awsome! That's cool to know.right at the road or do you have to hike up or down stream? I never saw any fish in the past but then again I wasn't looking that hard, and I did always wonder.

We were parked up stream from where it crosses the road. That stream comes down from Idyllwild, its part of Strawberry Creek, which has been stocked regularly for some time now. Gonna head up to Lake Filmore in the morning to take my lil one fishing. He is totally getting into the fishing thing!

@purple, right on have fun and good luck.
@byro, thanks for making me jealous , don't care for full auto but wouldn't mind having the option, along with a typical functional mag release. Good ol' california :/
