Fairly new to Jeeps, I know how to do tune-ups and basic things like oil changes and brakes. I bought this '96 last year bone-stock with 139k miles as my daily so my wife could have the VW Golf.
Long story short (kind of), she went to PHX with our 1-year-old early to visit her family a couple months back, I took the XJ out there to meet them and the tranny took a dive in Kingman. Had it towed back and my buddy's uncle runs Expert Transmission off Boulder Hwy so they did a full rebuild, he said whoever had it before put the fan in backwards and caused the tranny to overheat and burn out... no idea how that happens.
Anyway, now that I have a rebuilt tranny I've noticed a pretty bad grinding noise from the rear as soon as it kicks into 4th gear at 45mph, not sure if it's related or not and not really sure where to start with my limited knowledge. Has a small oil leak after fixing the pan and gasket leak, did the front brakes and rotors and they still squeel (driving me insane), and has major DW. Needs some work! Just waiting on that tax return. Don't really want to make it a crawler or anything but I'd like to give it a lift and some new wheels, roof rack, etc. so I can take my son out camping and off-roading for some fun on the weekends.

Ok. Jeeps still running fine today. Cleaned all the relays I could find. I want to figure out a config I can for to encase them though. I also have a video to load. I'll figure out how to do that and edit it in. But I have a Constant motor/pump running noise on the left side of the engine bay. You'll see/hear if I can get it uploaded.
Ok. Had to use youtube. Hope that's ok. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK3K...ature=youtu.be

I need a clutch and AX-15 rebuilt on my 96 XJ. Would you recommend Expert??
Awesome, thanks. I've only heard good things about them! And yeah I definitely recommend Expert, they've been around forever and family ran, gave me a great deal on the rebuild.

Well I'm replacing ball joints today and I ordered all 4 spicer joints. Well the upper ones don't have the "knurling" on them like the old ones. So instead of sending them back would somebody want to buy the brand new upper ones? Shoot me an offer
Arms did my axles, front and rear arb, and clocked my transfer case..
Great guys..
