Oh and personally if you're ordering the 4.5" kit. Go with 3.5" springs; shackle relocation boxes and a longer shackle. That should put you right at 4.5" plus give the added articulation
I actually already have the 4.5" Super-Flex lift. Just need shocks.

What's the simplest, homemade way to do this? I've seen lots of pictures of people flexing out their rigs with forklifts, but I'm not able to do that. Knowing that, I suppose I can get to installing the lift and then take measurements for the shocks.

Once you get your lift installed I think a lot of people usually find a berm or ditch to flex out on. Its possible to do without your springs in if you are really careful and have enough jacks/jackstands.

I've done it plenty of times. Find a steep hill and drive up at an angle till it's fully tucking and fully dropped. Then put e brake on and get out to take some measurements. Measure the one side fully compressed then measure the fully dropped side. Its never failed me yet!

You can drive without shocks. Very carefully, but you can.

Its a windy one out there. I was blowing around the freeway.

Yeah, that didn't occur to me until now. haha It makes sense though since the shocks are just for dampening. Sweet. Thanks for the input, guys. Looks like I can start on the lift sooner. My goal is to be done this month.

In addition to the lift, I need to do some maintenance work. I'm doing the valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, transmission pan gasket and filter, transmission mount, and motor mounts. 4 leaks. So much to do, so little time. I'm planning on tackling the valve cover gasket tonight and updating my build thread. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Or find a safety barrier and drive on up and do this lol. If you do some research on lift manufacturers websites, they'll sometimes have a list of what size shocks lengths you'll need for what size lift you're running or hell give them a call. I know rustys has a chart under there shocks.

Potato ridge was fun and the weather was perfect. The drive home however was not I blew a freeze plug lol and had to be towed home. But at least it didn't blow on the trail.
