LAS VEGAS XJ GROUP-----> 1st ROLL CALL.
Did this problem start before or after you replaced the ignition switch? Or did you replace the switch because it wouldn't start?
When did this occur? , do you drive it often? Has it been sitting?
Have you checked fuel pressure? I think you said you had spark?
Does you hear a click or crank or nothing?
Have you tried starting it in neutral if automatic?

Okay sorry.
story time…
started jeep. sparks happened from ignition switch area….jeep dies…won't start again…replaced the iginition switch…after shooting it down with a meter…the starter has 12 v and the battery is good. when i tried cranking it while having the meter on the starter solenoid to ignition switch wire got zero! so is it a fusible link wire from the starter solenoid to the ignition switch ? no hurt feelings…just frustrated and not thinking straight anymore …wiring sucks...

1995 jeep cherokee 4.0 6l . i can get the starter to spin up only when i do the screw driver trick on the starter and solenoid. so the starter is getting power. been looking at diagrams non stop. not very good with wiring diagrams learning . the problem I' think I've trouble shot down to is the wire going from the starter solenoid . the constant is getting power from battery but the one going to the ignition switch is not when we turn the key and check it/crank. could it be a neutral safety switch? already changed the ignition switch.
