Earlier today, my co-worker decided that Sunday would be a good day for a trail run to Rocky Gap. He drives a 2006 TJ Rubicon. 2 other Wranglers will be joining him... and me, with the only Cherokee.
If anyone cares to join us on Sunday for a trail run at Rocky Gap, we will be meeting at the Maverick gas station on the corner of Sunset and Ft Apache at 0830.
And I will bring some Monster drinks for those who need it lol. Post here or text my cell so I can tell him who to look out for

Been a while since I did a trail run. Last time I did Rocky Gap was in the snow last year and I got stuck twice!

If you have a moderate skill level and common sense it should only take a couple hours. If you do replace the OPG, I would also spring for the Rear Main Seal as it is done with the oil pan off, not the trans out. The RMS if/when it starts leakin will look like the OPG is leaking.
I'd say 2-5 hours depending on your skill level!!!
BenJammin's right about skill level, common sense and replacing the rear main seal while you're there. It took me longer than 5 hours because of clearance issues between the crank and the suspension. With patience (and removing the oil pump) I did it over a weekend.Originally Posted by BenJammin25

Did you break any bolts for oil pan? That's what I'm not looking forward to if it's commonOriginally Posted by mudshark99

The only reason a bolt should break is when your putting it back together and you get silicone in the bolt hole and the bolt has no more room to tighten... Otherwise oil pan bolt shouldn't be that tight to where they're gonna snap coming out, if they are the person before you was a toolOriginally Posted by 93jeeplv

So the jeep is running again but I am not super happy with the results. It sounds like it has a miss. Running rough and still has a tick louder than I would expect. I guess its time to break down and buy an obdii reader and start running codes. Maybe some new plugs to help it along but the tick really has me worried and I am not ready to tear thos damn thing down again. It idles under its own power. Being it has been down for sp long...does the ecm need to relearn how to run?
