so about an hour ago i decided to replace my tstat. i did the boiling water trick and bam.. the old one opened about 1/8 of an inch while the new one opened fully. so i stabed the new one back in and BOOM.! drove to tbell n back and idled in the parking lot reving to about 2g in rpms multiple times to see how hot i can get her. she doesnt move above 225. didnt even get hot enough for the aux fan to kick on. which is about 230 or so.
on a side note, i want to wire the aux fan to a 3 way switch, for a norm and manual setting. for the norm setting is easy but for the manual on should i wire in a relay or add in a fuse and go from the box? i dont know how much the fan motor can take in terms of voltage and i dont want to overload it. can anyone chime in on some insight?

I have mine wired to a relay and a switch. Power side of the fan is tapped, to the switch side of the relay. And the coil side of the relay is set on a switch which is key on power and hidden under my dash.
I have a wiring diagram in my "Jeep mods" binder. I can upload a pic if needed.
Been on call at work since 3pm. Ready to get out of here!

edit: well i have found threads to help but they are all confuseing as ****. i need it dumbed way down.
and also, with the way you have this wired, it allows you to manualy turn on the fan and it does not effect when the fan turns on automaticly?

Some posts I have come across mentioned a CEL problem. I have not had that happen and this has been wired since March.
Wiring diagram to follow shortly.
