Default Anybody in the 760 area looking to do some wheeling?

Hello I'm new to the jeep forum.. and I wanted to know if there's more people in the area that know of good trails in the north san Diego county area .. I have kids and a wife attached to the hip so would be great to find other people with the same scenario interested in exploring some trails around here ..

Welcome! I don't know any trails out that way personally but would love to join if we are able to find some. I don't have a wife/kids but if we get a big enough group, I'm sure I'd blend right in

What are the specs of your rig?

I've got a mild rig ... 97 xj with a currie 4.5" lift on 31" wheels .. ( im looking at 33's once I add the 4:56 gears and lockers .. dana 44 rear from a 88 cherokee ... (in the process of trying to change out the dana 30 for a dana 44 front front a waggy .. I've done mild trails but I'd like to meet more people that are willing to head out to some tougher trails .. me myself have little to no experience on the tougher trails .. would love to head out and learn ..

Welcome! I used to live up in Carlsbad, and can tell you there is not much. A good place for you to post to would be 951 thread. I used to go up around Elsinore, ocotillo wells, corral canyon, to name a few, but they are all treks. Everything in SD and surrounding area have been restricted. Proctor valley in Chula is gone, as well as everywhere off of the 905.

I'm always up for a day trek, out to the desert or?? Lake Morena, Corral Canyon, some good places only an hour or two from where I am in Escondido. Sometimes I just head out the 76 or down the 8 and look for dirt.

Hit me up some day, give me a little warning and I'll take you out and larn ya some tricks of the trail. Saturdays, leave early (not too early) pack a lunch, do a little hiking too, me n the wife like to do that, actually, the desert is a good place to start, and it's a doable day run, lots of sand, easy trails with some tuff spots if you get to feeling brave.
