Default WJ front sterring swap

So wondering if I could get some answers...
I was thinking about doing the WJ swap. But wondering if it anyone else has done it. Do I need. The WJ ball joints or the XJ an I need the knuckles, an everything should swap over?

K, I just started this swap myself and kinda ran out of money so here's what I came up with and yeah I bolted it on my 88 minus steering. WJ knuckles (duh), 87-90 xj hub assembly, 2003 explorer sport trac rotor(there's 2 options , use the one with the taller hat), 2003 wj caliper (akebono), it all works and is bolt on, ujoint is centered on ball joints, stub shaft bolts up, bearing bolts up, and ball joints bolt up. The only mod you have to do is either grind or machine (wichever you want) the outside diameter of the hub .002" to make the rotor a slip on. The rotor centers on the middle of the hub so it doesn't have to be perfect. Then from there the steering I gonna be just modded wj factory stuff and track bar has to be move to the top of the axle,so a new one has to be built and axle bracket built. I can get you the part numbers for the stuff I'm using if you need em. Doing it this way there's no b.s. press work or weird machining and ALL the parts are of the shelf parts that all parts houses have. Good luck.

hubs and rotors are different bolt pattern, wj is 5-5 and cherokee is 5-4.5. and the wj front end is wider so the adjusting sleeves at least need to be shortened to match the cherokee width.

ah alrighty k. so do the rotors wont fit being 5.5. if they dont then might just op out of this mod. do you know the dual cylinder break calipers fit with the XJ hub and rotors......hmmm after contilplating about different ops. maybe ill look into this a lil more. i dont think this option is the one i wana. so i would really only get the steering setup with the WJ knuckles. i would have to use the XJ hub, rotors and use the WJ caliper but isnt it ment for the WJ rotor and i think those are an inch wider and with the XJ rotors i dont thing it would work. maybe ill look into just using a YJ set up that way its a lil stronger and tirod ends on all corners....say where are you located maybe ill have to come stop by and check this out to see what works and doesnt. thanks by the way.

I'm in the portland outskirts...the wj calipers won't work on thbe xj rotors, wrong offset and diameter. But the 03 explorer sport rotors do work and just need some minor grindin on the xj hub to make it a slip on rotor.

hmm ok now you got me interested again. but id if the local junkyards have a 03 explorer. though i know they are popular, and i think it would be a better idea if i just went out and bought new ones. that way they would last longer. hmm think you could send some pics. id like to do this if there is a way.

track bar needs to be relocated to the top of the axle due to drag link angle. theres 2 options on explorer sport rotors, 1 has like a 1.75" hat height and one has a 2.6" hat height, you need the taller of the 2. Ill send pics as soon as my new phone gets here...my current one has crap for camera!!
