Default Whose Going to Propose the Next CF Meet-N-Greet-N-Wheel Destination???

Okay guys, nobody else has started a thread about where to do the next Meet-N-Greet-N-Wheel...so, I thought I would start one asking where, to get people thinking. If we are still committed to doing one of these a month, we need to agree on a place within the next few days so we can plan it for a month away from the last one.

Alex - Assetts91, has posted a thread for a Run on his B-day (5-6 November) at Walker Valley OHV area, just outside of Mt. Vernon, Wa. That doesn't have to be the Meet-N-Greet run but, it is eaxactly 4 weekends from the Elbe run we just had. Really any weekend in November and any 4wheeling Area in the CF PACNORWEST Area will work. So, post up your ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I challenge you to plan a run that will be more fun than my Elbe run was....LOL!!!!!!!!

Any weekend in November after the weekend of the (5-6) and I am in. Naches is another place I've never been but, that is on my 4wheeling "Bucket List". Give Tim enough time to get his Jeep fixed because he has to go too...LOL. There is only the second weekend in November left before the 15th. That is the weekend of (12-13 November). What do you say, Bill. Will that weekend work?

Well, that is Buck, Alex, Dave, Eric and Austin, that are in for a Naches run the weekend of November 12-13. What do you say Bill, Tyrone, Tim??? Does that Saturday or Sunday work for you guys to do a Naches run? Heck, I bet Branden might even haul his broke dick Jeep over to nahces for as run.

Dave, I will offer up my truck to tow a trailer over to Naches. We'd just have to figure out how to fit my Jeep and yours on the trailer.

I am in. It will probably be pretty busy up there that weekend. A lot of people try to get one last run in before it closes. I ran it last year right before it closed and there was a good amount of snow which made it more interesting. The Naches trail is pretty tame for the most part so even if we follow popcan there isn't too much risk of damaging your rig. I think we would just be running the Naches trail and not any of the other trails in the Naches area as just doing the trail takes most of the day. I say we meet early in Bonney Lake, drive out and run the whole Naches trail, stop at Whistlin Jacks for some grub, and then head back to FS70 on the forest roads.

Sounds good to me, Bill. I will be there. I've met up in Bonney Lake at the Fred Meyer store, before. That seems to be a good central location to meet in Bonney Lake. How long does it take to get to the Naches Trail head from Bonney lake?

I've been doing some reading up on the Naches Pass Trail. It is said that the Western section (#1175) is pretty much very easy and then the Eastern section (#684) is quite difficult. One end of the trail can be reached by taking Highway 410 to Greenwater (not sure if this a town or what). About 1 mile past Greenwater, you turn left onto FS (Forest Service Road) 70. At about the 9 mile mark on FS70 you will see a smaller less developed road that takes you to the trailhead of the Naches Pass Trail.....Or, you can continue farther up Highway 410 to the Little Naches Campground on your left. You will see FS19 road heading out away from the Campground. 10 miles up SF19 there is a turn out on the right side of the road with a notice board marking the beginning of the #684 section of the Naches Trail. This section is actually rated as: Most Difficult. I think not...LOL. Anyway, if somebody was to want to avoid the "so called" difficult section of the trail, they could go another 1.6 miles down SF19 and take a right on SF1913. Just prior to the bridge you would see the trail on the left. That is where the other end of the #1175 section of the trail is. Basically, SF1913 road is the divider between the #1175 and #684 sections of the Naches Pass trail. I also found the Whistilin' Jack Lodge a few more miles up Highway 410 past the Little Naches Campground. I'm guessing that is the Whistilin' Jack's that Bill was talking about.

In my opinion none of the Naches trail is "most difficult". The far west side and far east side sections of the trail are tougher than the middle and can be fun when wet, but could still probably be run without lockers on 32s (might need a pull in a couple spots). Basically the Naches trail goes between FS70 on the west side by the town of Greenwater, over to FS19 on the east side past chinook summit (technically FS70 and HWY410 are also parts of the old wagon trail). Our plan would be to start on the west side and head east. Whistling Jack's is on HWY 410 so after we get done with the trail we would head down FS19 out to the HWY and it is just a couple miles down the road. If we were quick we could then run the trail back but I usually just end up going back on FS19-FS70.
