so how was it.
i went up the capt. forest to cruise around and check somethings out. drove around for a couple hrs and had that screeching sound on the front passenger side again. like when your brake pads are going out. and then it was gone then came back and after i came back down the mt i was gone. and drove my freinds home and me home there was nothing. so yeah thinking the hub is still ajustin its self so ill go tighten them down...

So I broke a axle on Sunday at walker valley and had to change it out on the trail, that sucks. So anyway I just picked up a 8.8 to swap into my cherokee. So if anyone is looking for a dana 35 with a lockright locker and 3.73 gears it will be up for sale $275. Drum to Drum.
so i went out and test drove the jeep. the vibrations seem to be gone. i still feel a tiny bit of vibration but that could be from many things including the completely worn out shocks that i discovered i have in the rear. all in all im glad it was a relatively easy fix! still gonna go pick up a new driveline tomorow at the junk yard

Went 4wheeling at a place called Snake Lake Trail about 60 miles north of Reno, NV. I went with Jason (RenoXJ) and his crew. It was a great day of wheeling and saw some beautiful scenery. I made it all the way through the trail and my rear axe shifted. Discovered U-bolts had been loose for a long ime and caused the passenger side leaf spring pin to shear. For a trail fix we kicked the axle back to center, lined up all of he spring pin holes and shoved an adjuster bolt from a set of vice grips through and cranked the U-bolts as tight as I could. I held together for the 150 mile trip back to Fallon, NV. where I am staying. Gotta go get some new U-bolts and spring pins today. I still have to drive this beast 1200 miles back up to Washington in afew days.

...Is when you work on the Jeep because you can, not because you have to!
I got the Front Skidplate, 4 Tow hooks, Recovery Point/Bumper Brackets at the bone-yard for $40. I spent about an hour to get the parts cleaned off with a grinder and wire cup to clean them off, inspect for cracks and be ready for paint.
I wiped them all down with grease/wax remover, Pained them with RustOleum Epoxy Appliance Spray paint that has a rust converter/inhibitor, baked them in the kitchen oven @ 100 degrees so thew would be cured by the time I had the bumper off... (Mental note, watch the yard sales for a cheap oven to put in the garage so the girlfriend does not react like an angry Boble-head the next time I pull this stunt!)
Also painted the bumper, corner caps and grill while I was at it. What a mistake! Makes the rest of the rig stand out...
Plan to use the extra hooks in the back when I figure out how I want to attach them to the Class 3 Receiver. For now I just have a hook welded to a removable ball mount.
All and all about 2/3 of a day spent "Playing in the Man Cave".

I also figured out that you don't need to waste your time raking the yard every time your Neighbors leaves blow in and cover it back up... Just spend the day with your garage door up and it acts like a

i ripped out the drivers and passenger carpets. cuz they were soaked and moldy. and i am tired of the stick. so i got a light in there drying it out in there, then im gunna get some money and rhino coated it and no more worries.
Got the front end of my new rig on jack stands, started pulling the D30 out to sell (need a HP D30?) and installed my C-rok inner plate + bumper mounts.
Getting the front end on jack stands evenly (both jack stands up the same amount) gave me a good idea of seeing where the rig will sit. It's amazing how much harder it is to get into a lifted Jeep when you no longer have bolt on rock sliders. My rocker replacements won't help much for getting in either.

P.S. FWIW wanagojeep, I herculined my last rig and put all the carpet back in with the mental thought "If I ever swamp it, I'll just pull the carpet and run the herculiner/not have to worry about rust." Well...dumb idea. It's way to loud for DD without carpet IMO and I ended up flopping before ever pulling the carpet out.

I took the rear suspension of the Jeep apart today to further assess the damage from last week's wheeling trip and a little neglect on my part. It ends up both of the rear leaf spring alignment bolts were sheared. The the U-bolts on the passenger side were stripped. The passengerside rear brake had halfway come apart and pierces were laying losse inside the drum. The driver's side axle seal was leaking and there was gear oils all over the brake on that side. Wow!! what a mess. I installed new spring alignment bolts on both sides ($6) at Napa, new U-bolts on the passenger side ($12 at Autozone) I thought that was a pretty good deal. I put he passenger side brake back together and adjusted it. I cleaned and adjusted the brakes and resealed the axle main cap on the driver's side. I am ready for one more wheeling trip...Hopefully to the Rubicon trail and tghen the trip back home to Washington.
