Had the same thing happen to me while tooling down I-5 near Roseburg. Had it into a tire shop just before hitting the road. They only tightened the lugs with the impact. I told the technician to to a final torque of 95 ft. lbs. with a torque wrench and he thought he knew better than me. Driver's side rear wheel separated at 65 and went airborne. It jumped the median, crossed the north bound lanes, went over the bank and into the river. I never saw it again. Luckily it never hit any other cars or any houses. The tire shop ended up having to replace the lug nuts, lug studs, brake drum, wheel and tire. I have factory rims so they weren't able to match my 20 year old factory rims. I'm still hot about that to this day. On an XJ with oversize tires I recommend regular torqueing of the lugs and also check the studs for stretched threads whenever the wheels come off. Just replace studs and lugs as you need to.

Finished up my uca mount, cut off my sway bar mounts so they will quit eating my TRE boots and welded the stubs to the coil spring buckets.

Yeah worked on the studs today and started replacing the brakes. Rim was toasted so had to dig out a match and get it mounted. Had to order brake kit since I'm missing so pieces. Will finish tomorrow along with cleaning and replacing bulbs in the KC's. hope the brakes in smooth then gotta figure out how to fix the fender. will post pics later.

I had this put on yesterday. It was made by a guy that runs a small business called Red Goat Fab. Look it up on facebook if you want to see some of the other bumpers and artwork he does. This was his first attempt at a cherokee bumper and I think it turned out really well. He already has plans to alter the bumper a bit, but it will look every similar to this one. His shop is located in Lowden, Wa which is maybe 15 miles from Walla Walla.
It is secured with 4 bolts on each side and seems very sturdy. 3/16 steel, nice big clevis mounts. It has been drilled for a winch to bolt onto it.
Once it was bolted on I had to drive back to Goldendale for work, but I plan of cutting the fenders and flares to match up with the bumper.

That would be a no no, i would defiantly suggest using high temp engine block enamel, sticks good and wont light your rig on fire
