I bought a Dana 44 out of an 1987 xj from a guy on craigslist today and it has a brand new spartan locker in it. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these? I can finally get rid of the one tire fire in the rear im stoked

 

they are cheap but do their job. never heard of any problems with them. just a simple lunch box locker

 

I just got the D44 axal installed with the locker and wanted to post my thoughts on it. Just driving around on the street it is alot quiter than the richmond one definetly does its job locking up and slipping around turns, all and all it seems to be a great deal for the money. IMHO

 

I've seen one break but the guy has 38" tires. Spartan lockers website doesn't recommend a tire over 31" if I remember right.

 

Spartan Lockers are recommended to lighter vehicles or vehicles with tires shorter than 32". Im running 33s so I should get a couple years out of it....I hope.
