Default RE control arms

so i bought some control arms and i think they are too short. they are RE and i put new hardware into them but when i went to adjust them to the stock LCA length they fell short. i was on the last thread and they bearly made it. but thats on the last thread. am i doing something wrong or is it REs fualt. sooo i was wondering if a few of your guys out there could send me some mesurements of their control arms. that way i know where i should start to figure this out. i think a stock control arm is 15 3/4" and id like to go longer to accomidate for lift and to push my front axle forward for clearence as well. send me what ya got. id like to get this figured out and have something on my rig....

xj and zj are the same.

but i'm confused, if they are adjustable rubicon express, how can they be too short for stock length? i don't get it. do you mean they're too long??

the fixed RE 5.5 inch lowers are stock length because they use drop brackets, but went to adjustable later. but they still adjust to stock length...

Im pretty sure stock XJ LCA's are 15 1/4 not 15 3/4 but either way thats pretty short. Im running a short arm lift (4.5ish) and I believe my LCA's are 16 3/8. Ill measure them today while Im changing out my TRE's and let you know.

Default control arm lengths

My LCA is 16 1/4 and my UCA is 16 from center of bolt to center of bolt and my axle is pretty well centered. I dont know if this will help you or not...

Yea it does. The adjustables when adjusted all the way out make the 15 1/4 but that's no thread. Soo I'm guessing I got something different. But between xj, tj, Zj, they are all the sane length. But I do believe the grand Cherokee lower rears are shorter.

Ya probably, I think the tj rear control arms were the same design but different specs, might be one of those.

Cut them make them a little longer get some dom that's either bigger or smaller to fit in or over the other pipe and weld it together. That will work and only cost a few bucks for a few inches of pipe.I might have a small piece for you just find out what size you need.

just curious, did you remove both lowers at the same time, now you're trying to put in the new ones?
if so, chances are the axle is just moved forward and you need to use a ratchet strap to pull the axle closer so the new control arm will fit?

i'm just thinking out loud...
