I have lived in Hillsboro for 21 years, enjoyed every last minute.
Great wheeling in the coast area, Green mountain, Browns camp,
Tons of logging roads to go goof on.
Just got back from a trip to gails creek area.
If you move out here and want to wheel, Hit me up.
Just getting the jeep drive able right now, but I am up for short trips.

Not really any snow to speak of.. maybe once or twice a year for a day or two it snows..
My sister lives in sandy though, and she loves it.. her kids enjoy the schools there, great eating, lots of snow.. the mountain in your back yard, and camping/wheeling galore.
However..most jobs up there are seasonal.. they really get lots of work in the winter.. but the summer it dies down some.
Sisters husband works in Gresham and drives back every day

I live in central Oregon, in particular Sisters. We have all the good snow muahahahaha! and snow sports to go with it. We also have sand and mud and rock and... all the good stuff. No money, though. Poverty with a view, if you will.
But yeah, mountains, trees and snow to the west, wide open sand, rocks and desert to the east. Lots of rivers, lakes, streams and trails everywhere in between. Best of all worlds.

NW portland off 185th lots of job good school westveiw high school and middle school and elementary is great there, they're known as great district, that area gets good amount of snow and the area is expanding fast. best for you kids, best for you since its right off sunset highway and get to browns within 20mins. there's alot of wheeling places and that area is centered of all locations. I'm in hillsboro bound so lettme know if you wanna hit the trails.
Dude, the great thing about living in the pdx area, especally hillsboro or vancouver (both boarder the country) is it really doesnt snow that much in town, but a 15 min drive out of town (larch mt for vancouver and Browns camp for hillsboro) yelds more snow then you will know what to do with. And if your looking for a big town, then its pdx area. sandy, zig zag ad hood river are just outside of the pdx area and they are the smaller country countys.
