it is all about the most obvious forms that will protect your jeep. for 20-30 bucks you can get a steering wheel lock. i point the long handle right at the middle of the drivers seat, so it makes it impossible to even sit in there and attempt to steal it. you can also see it through the window, so it is a strait out deterrent.

then there is the mystery stuff, that makes it really hard. like a kill switch, and/or tinted windows. a theft will most likly not break into a car with tinted windows cause he can not see if anyone is inside or not,

those are just a few things you can do. glad you got it back, now it is time to get that insurance money.

That's the kicker, my insurance won't cover me for anything. I estimate $1k+ worth of my property is missing. I'm glad that a forum member on PNWRiders.com found my Jeep and called me, if not for him I'm not sure I would have found as much of it as I did.

I've since installed a few anti-theft devices, and I fully intend on finding anyone who tries to break into my Jeep again...using my devices.

Thanks for the concern guys, if not for the forum community as a whole...I may not have had a car right now.

when i lived in San Diego, my jeep was broken (or at least attempted) into 3 times. first time they tried to steel it even when i had my clutch lock on, i figured they noticed after they broke the steering column and just stole the radio. the just punched the lock in and broke the door off the hinge.

second time my awesome old neighbor pulled a .45 on them and made the guys beg for their life!!! it was quite entertaining.

the third time the couldn't get the lock open....so they stole the LICENSE PLATE!!!!!!!

my insurance covered the first time and would not pay for a new license plate (cheap bastards). bt funny thing was that i reported the missing plate to the cops and the guys got caught 3 days later trying to cross the border in a stolen jeep with my plate in it! the cops asked me if i wanted the plates back, when i said no they said i couldn't have it anyway cause it was reported stolen.

so since all of this i have left the stupid city of San Diego(i call it upper mexico) and moved here, Washington state. i also bought a steering wheel lock and point the long handle tight in the middle of the seat, so you cant even sit in the seat to attempt to steel it!
