which lift RC vs RE
Ok so I was looking at lifts. Basically trying to find the cheapest kit that comes with a full rear leaf spring pack not a add a leaf.
Rubicon express surprisingly has the cheapest kit.
3.5inch superide for 585.
Next is rough country
3 inch for 609
Then
4.5 inch for 655.
The rough country comes with shocks and the RE doesn't.
My first question is are the RC shocks worth it or will I end up buying better shocks soon after.
Then ? 2 is....
So if I buy a new kit do I get the RC kit because it comes with shocks or do I get the RE kit because it is cheapest. And I should get different shocks.
Mac I know you run RC and you like them I also like the stance of your lift. When you ran there 3 and now that you run the 4.5.
What's your input on the RC shocks.

my last lift was the RE3.5 Superride. I loved it. handled great, great flex. Also, i netted just above 4 inches from it. when i trimmed my fenders, i could have run 33's. RE is higher quality. RC has some good stuff to thou. Others can speak from experience. I am currently running their nitro shocks...i like how they ride.

My 02. on RC Shocks.
(1) I understand my XJ is not a car
(2) I am using the RC shocks until I need to replace them, and then I will replace them with some better shocks, which are going to set me back about 300-400 bucks for the good ones.
(3) I got tooo dam many hobbies to drop a load of cash on 1 lift.

I looked at the other write ups on here. I just wanted some local opinioons of people I meet. That's is why I posted on local forums instead of just reallying on what the search brought up.
So I will have to figure things out as far as price and shocks

as was said before, if you want quality go for RE. i know you are on the NAXJA website because i have seen you post before. look for one of the RE vendors named fullsizexj. he can get you a decent deal on a RE lift. i have the 3.5 superride and love it. i got around 4 inches of lift with it. the only thing i wish i did was spend a little extra money and go for the superflex kit instead of superride. if you ever plan on going higher get the superflex. it comes with a trac bar and all the goodies.
as for RC. i have a few buddies running their 4.5" lift. they are nice and dandy at first but tend to sag pretty good later in life where the RE would last way longer.
on a final note, whichever kit you get, make sure you buy the full leaf pack and not the add-a-leaf. it will last much longer.

RE/RC personal choice, I've seen RE springs sag and also RC sag. My RC rear leafs sagged bad when I had it overloaded while moving across country.
Quality from RC, with my 4.5 kit (Rock Series Kit, the vendor suggested this one, it was not listed on the website at the time of purchase), which came with:
(1) Adjustable upper and lower control arms
(2) Adjustable track bar
(3) Extended brake lines front and rear
(4) Front Quick disconnects Sway Bar
(5) Front Coil Springs
(6) Full Rear Leaf pack
(7) 4 Shocks
I have no complaints with this, been offroad with it, and I absolutely beat on it the 1st two trips out with it to get it loosened up, it road stiff as heck.
I've never owned or installed anything other than RC products with full leaf packs so I could not tell you anything about RE, but all RE owners will gloat about RE products being superior in quality and overall durability.
Well, I gloat about RC products quality and overall durability until MY RC products fail in quality and durability.
RC SHOCKS: Not quality, just average, but enough to survive.
