3.5" on 31s. For trails around Seattle/ Tacoma. I don't plan on hitting huge rocks or running through a lake lol. How capable is that height?

Very capable. I had a 2in lift and 31s and did some pretty crazy ****. Personally, I'd go 33s.

Think you may have been mislead.
Lift height doesn't mean capability.
Its traction, ground clearance, and driver knowledge that makes a rig capable.

Nothing could be further from the truth. My big concern is, will it be enough clearance to hit some good spots in Washington? As a driver I should know and I will know. Seeing as I haven't been 4wheeling in about 6 years when I get her up and rolling any place a novice like myself should go first?

Since we're on the topic of lifts. Anyone have a review/ honest opinion of Tuff Country 43800 lift kit? I'm not planning on hitting the trails hard are crawling up massive hills. When I go I'll most likely have my wife riding shotgun. My xj is my DD is the lift rough on pavement and will it hold up with general offroad?

Get some skids, if your only wanting to run a 31" tire then just save money with a BB. You can always upgrade later if you find it doesn't do what you need it to. Hell, 31s will fit stock no problem with a bit of fender trim. Invest in good recovery as well

Does anyone know about tuff country lifts? How do they ride on / off road? Are they durable enough to take offroad? My budget is tight but I can always replace parts and upgrade.

Budget boost.
Tuff Country is the same as RC (garbage).
For 31s all you need is some 2" spacers and an extended shackle

What needs "rebuilt" in your front end?

Tie rods, tie rod adjusting sleeves, tie rod ends, track bar bushings, track bar, upper and lower control arms, and u joints.<br />

So a lift that I can make modifications to as I see fit is all I need. As I stated I'm not looking to do anything crazy out on the trail. It'll be a weekend thing with my wife and dog. <br />

Does anyone or has anyone used a tuff country lift? Preferably the 3.5&quot; suspension lift kit.
