Got a Ticket for HID kit
no offense, but i hate when people just put in HIDs without projectors. **** blinds everyone and its just dangerous. Yes they make the road more visible to you, but that **** blinds everyone on the road.

Those are not projectors. They are pro-fake-tors. Now I know why the cop gave you a ticket. Those lights throw light like ****!

yea those housings suck, plain and simple and are not dot compliant(i you look closely on the web site you bought them it usually says off road use only,) thats how they get away with being liable for selling non compliant housings. any ways buy some sealed beams like it had originally(junk yard) take it to the cops have them sign off on it than get some decent housings without the magnifying glass in them and some 5000k hids. although hids are illegal in all states if they arent in an approved housing and not sure about the tails but the reflective tape sounds like a winner
honestly dont know if these are dot compliant but this IS a true projector housing and pretty cheap too ive seem others around 1000 bucks

Ditch the HIDS and just do it the right way with a harness upgrade and some new housings.
Dont take it the wrong way but I hate guys who run HIDS in old rigs that arn't meant to have them, but I see at least you tried to do it the right way. I personally wish the cops were much stricter on rigs running HIDS. Sick and tired of getting blinded by old Chevy's, Fords, and Civics who went on ebay and stuck a 50$ Hid kit in their stock headlights.
All that stuff said, Unless you can provide proof the front lights are DOT approved you've got no case. They might work with you on the rear.

I don't understand all the opinions that are being thrown at this, the state has very specific written codes which are all readily available for anyone to see. And basically from the 5minutes I spent reading found your tail lights to be illegal here> http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.37.100 and although it's been a while know that "blue" lights on the vehicle are a no no, but you can look here>http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?Cite=46 and see all the codes your vehicle could be breaking so you are better prepared next time
Of course any and all tickets can be beat with the right amount of money and a good lawayer.

Well guys if everyone who got a ticket after being pulled over actually went to court and to jury trial instead of just claiming guilt and paying the fine then the courts would be flooded and it would take the justice system months even years to try and convict for such things. So stick to your guns and take it all the way, chances are they will not want to waste there time and money "we'll tax payers money" and just drop the case.

I have run the stock tail lights on my Jeep for the 7 years I've had it. While not prettiest tail light lenses out there, they were the OEM ones that were put on it when it rolled down the assembly line and the work perfectly good. There isn't a police officer in the country that will ticket you for running OEM lighting. That goes for front and rear. Now, you may argue that the OEM tail lights on an XJ break farely easily while wheeling. Yes, I would have to agree with you. I've demolished at least 3 on each side that I can remember. I've even demolished one on each side since putting my rear quarter panel guards on. Both of them were straight up my fault. (Getting past the the HUGE boulder on Ridge Rams Trail and getting past the HUGE boulder on the Jeeps Cross Trail....the upper section of Ron's Run Trail to you younger guys. Anyway a lot of backing up mixed with a lot of skinny pedal....and...well, you guys know how the rest goes. The point I'm making is this, I have always been able to find replacement OEM tail lights for my XJ from friends, family members or my local junkyard for dirt cheap. So, sticking with OEM tail lights keeps the cops off my case and makes replacement really inexpensive....Just saying. Oh, and I've been blinded by many a Ricer with them stupid HID lights. Makes me want to ride their butts even closer when the lights of my Lifted Chevy Silverado and my Jeep shine right into their back windows...LOL.

I have to disagree with nothing personal.......but that statement is a contradiction, MEN don't pay tickets, "men do what is right" and charging people fines for having lights on a vehicle is criminal in my book. Men don't bend over and take a ticket......men stand up for themselves and fight for what they believe is right!
