I may go up to Evans for a quick run this Saturday. I really want to run the 197 because last weekend we were with someone who actually cares about body damage and talked the group out of running it. Maybe just a quick 3-4 hour run up the 197, 198 and then down the 102. For the 23rd I will be in the Naches area.

if the 102 is the trail with all the switchbacks, then the 102, 197 and 198 are a few of my favorites. especially that stump that's on I think the 197 that likes to take out rear XJ side windows and taillights....LOL.

Nope. You still cannot run the upper 520 and 519. The upper 520 has a 4-5 foot high snow drift over the trail. At first it covers just the right side the trails so if you tried to go over it you would slide sideways and get wedged against the trees. It is at one of the last corners before you get to the rock slide. We never tried the 519 but it is higher than the 520 and has several shady spots that I imagine are still holding similar piles of snow. All the other trails are clear and ready to run. I still may go there on Saturday, but I have a friend who is trying to talk me into running the Naches trail. I am not too hot on the idea because it opens this Saturday and will likely be very crowded.
If you or anyone else here is interested to hear a summary of what was discussed at last nights Forest Service meeting in regards to the Evans Creek, Naches Trail, and Greenwater areas just go to www.wow4x4.com and check out my post in the Evans Creek section.

As much as I really want to go wheeling this weekend I have tickets to see Soundgarden at the Gorge. Looks like I am going to shoot for an Evans Creek run on August 6th.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, something came up with the family. Plus I don't have lockers, or a winch
