As of last weekend there was no more snow at the entrance, but still some at the campground. I think the 311 and 102 are still the only trails open all the way through, but someone may have cut trail through the 196, 197, 198 or lower 520 by now. Go check it out and let us know.
well we had 10 rigs with us last night. started at 5pm and got home by midnight.
we started running the 102 which was perfectly clear. then ran across the road at the top of the 102 to the 198 and got just about to the top and was denied with about 3 feet of nasty heavy snow. the bent metal customs LS powered buggy couldnt even get through it. we turned around and headed down the main road towards the 196 (pond trail). went up the trail to the 197 and got denied by about a million downed trees over the trail. we had chainsaws but not enough gas to cut them all down. so we headed up the 196 trail instead and were denied once again by a 3 ft wall of snow. we then headed down to the main road again and then headed up the fishbowl trail where we were soon denied once more by snow level. we gave her hell in the snow and got farther than anyone else had (there were no old tracks) but just couldnt get far enough. after being denied more times than we wanted to count we headed to the begining of the 311 and ran that with no issues and headed home.

i would totally be down to help out too but the problem is the amount of snow that is still on the trails. you need a pretty well equipted rig to get to most of the downed trees. and i dont know if it would be worth it to get a bunch of people with underequipted rigs out there to cut stuff out of the way when they will be getting stuck most of the time. give it another month or so and most the snow should be gone

You also can't just go up there with a chainsaw and start cutting. You have to get your Forest Service chainsaw certification before you can legally cut anything up at Evans. We will probably have to wait a couple weeks for more of the snow to melt before we can get the downed trees out of the way.
Anyone up for Evens Creek on saturday . Really want to head up there to check the snow out an my buddy keep bugging me and wants to know when im going to take him out Wheelin.
So if I got any taker let me know

The 102 and 311 are still the only trails that can be run all the way through so unless you don't plan to do much wheeling you may be disspapointed with the amount of trails that can be run at Evans right now. I would suggest you come on down to Elbe. Myself and several other W.O.W. guys are headed down Saturday to go wheeling and make sure the trails are ready for the Elbe fun run this Sunday. I plan to camp Saturday night and will be there all day Sunday to help with the fun run. Come on out one or both days. If you have never been to a fun run before I reccomend coming out Sunday. There will be a bunch of aweome rigs to check out, free lunch, and a ton of cool prizes to win.
So me and a couple buddy's are heading up to Evens Creek friday night to camp and do some Wheelin Saturday morning would like to get a couple more people in are group Saturday while where Wheelin the more the better. Let me know if your in

I would really like to go, but I broke one of my long arms at the Elbe Fun Run and wont have my new long arms and crossmember until sometime next week. I will proabably just go camping instead, but if I don't I may head up and try to hitch a ride in someone else's rig. When you get back please post a conditions update.

.....Have a great time, but be careful!
