Default yoke on rear diff

Gotta stupid question. The other day i snapped a u-joint strap bolt in my rear diff's yoke and had to put a bolt through it with a nut on the back side; i figure this will only be temporary untill i can replace the yoke. What do i have to go through when i replace the yoke on the rear diff? Does it have to be from my same axle? Will i have to regear if i pull the yoke? Do i HAVE to replace that pinon seal?

Thanks in advance,
Redwolf

To answer your question.

Get one at the JY.

Put in in a vise. Use 400 then 600 then 800 wet-n-dry sand paper to shoeshine around the yoke......to polish the surface. (use oil or water)

If the seal is not leaking, grease the yoke and stick it back in and torque it down.....don't over torque.

And be done with it.

Some Jeeps came from the factory with Dana 35s. The manufacturer didn't always know best.
