hey guys, the other day i was putting my front driveshaft in and i was on the last strap bolt and i snapped it.. so i instantly got a headache and figd id jus tap/drill it out. but then i had a thought and i had put 2 "new" axles from the jy into her bc i wanted 4wd, but i still have my stock 2wd axle sittin outside, would the 2 yokes be the same so i could jus take off the one with the snapped bolt in it and swap it for the one thts outside? or would tht be an easier process said than done? thanks!

you're asking if the front yoke on a Dana30 is the same as a rear axle (Dana 35 or 8.25)? That's a good question, I'd like to know, I'll check it out in the near future. I have to do some axle swapping and yoke replacing. One quick way to check is look at the outer diameter of the yokes (sealing surface), that could rule it out. It is as simple as pulling the big (1-1/8" I think) nut and putting the new yoke on. You're supposed to measure the pinion bearing preload before swapping, but I know a lot of people just swap 'em out. I'd be more **** about a rear yoke on a DD.
