YJ Dana 30 fit in XJ?

YJ Dana 30 fit in XJ?

Hey guys,

Just have a quick question, I searched around but could never find an answer. Im needing a D30 front for my XJ, and I found a cheap one out of a YJ. So basically my question is, will a YJ Dana 30 front axle fit in a XJ? I'm not sure what length YJ axles are.

they are identical axles, you will have to cut off the leaf spring mounts and weld on coil buckets and control arm mounts. your better off trying to find a front axle front axle from a tj because it will bolt right in

TJ's are low pinion. i would hold out for a XJ/MJ D30.

but what is he difference on lp to hp dana 30's?

beat me in the head if this is a dumb a$$ question

HP are better with lp you will get a vibration in it my buddy has A lp in his 01 xj and hates it wants to swap out for HP and lower gears right now has lp and 3.55 gears he is right wait to find a HP
