Did the 29 spline 8.25 come with a Trac Loc or anything like it in the XJ? There are a few in the yard local and if one is limited slip I would grab it in a heart beat. What would the LSD look like? Does anyone have a picture? I popped a cover off 2 today and they looked clean but thats about all I know inside a diff.

I can't really answer your question but I sometimes wonder the same thing about mine. I have the 8.25 29spline and if I do a break stand style burn out one 1 tire spins, but if I'm in mudd, or wet pavement, I can mash the pedal down and spin 2 tires and kick the rear end sideways around turns... So I am also curious on this subject

 

I think all rear axles had LSD as a factory option. Here's a pic of what open and limited slip look like. BTW Found this by searching.

 

The limited slip carrier is the more square one on the right.
