Default Yellow box ?????

Just out of curiosity, what is the yellow box screwed to the bottom edge of the dash just below the steering column? About the size of an old 8 track tape. ECU or TCU?

I had to take it loose to get at the turn signal wiring coming down out of the column. In other news, after fiddling with it a while the right rear turn signal suddenly started working again

Oh! Thanks!

So it doesn't matter much, since it doesn't work anymore anyway?

Not really. If you unplug the plugs to it, they fit together and you can eliminate the box if you want to

Thanks!

I didn't notice that there were two plugs. I just let it dangle and rest more or less on the brake pedal after taking out the two machine screws. You can't access much of anything under the dash without moving it out of the way.

If I have to get under there again, I may just take it out completely, The cruise control worked when we first got the Jeep but like a lot of other things quit working shortly, but it's pretty much the least of my worries as this is just a local vehicle: drive it around the "ranch" and the neighborhood and to town in the winter. Heck, maybe it even works now! Seems like the "fix" is to just grab the wires and wiggle them around
