Im pretty sure my theromostat went up last night.

it was getting over 260 degress and was boiling over the bottle... and the antifreeze was full. The heater was blowing cool air ...

Would this be the thermostat?

thermostat failure isnt typical...And i think not 100% sure but i think the heater core hose comes off the waterpump check yours to be sure...so i would be looking at the Pump and the tension/condition of the belt....If it does turn out to be bad replace the Thermostat also...make sure to test it before you install it.

Also double check you oil make sure you dont have any signs of coolant in it.

It will blow cold air if the thermostat is stuck closed because it cant circulate...

replace the thermostat.. check your impeller in the water pump... if that is broken or dammaged it wont matter how nice the thermo is...

look for white residue around the base/bolts of the water pump to see if its leaking antifreeze if you are losing some.

make sure you check the cap on the serge tank after you change the therm. and fill it back up. If it was blowing out coolant it might have stripped or cracked it
