Default Xj wont start

So I have been having this problem with my Xj starting. In the morning it will start up just fine but at times after it is shut off it who tart back up like if the battery is dead. What is weird is that if I let it sit for a couple of minutes it will start right up. What could be the problem??

One of mine, the NSS is a little gummy. If I park it hot, it will start fine in the AM. If I just re-park it, (finishing by putting it in park with the NSS cold), I will, (in my case), need to push the shifter forward while holding the key over to start.

If you hold the key over, and jiggle the shifter in park or neutral and it starts, it's your NSS. See>> http://bc4x4.com/tech/2010/jeep-neut...ty-switch-nss/

I don't know, worth a shot I suppose if jiggling the shiftier worked. Since mine works when it's hot I'm thinking it's just gummy in there. It's been like that for about 10 years, I just need to be sure to tell anyone borrowing the Jeep what to do it she no crank.

Thanks for the replies. I think it might be something else. I might be wrong! Motor turns over but no start and then it dies like if the battery is dead. I let it sit for a while and it seems as if the battery recharged itself. Pretty sure that doesn't happen! Then I start it again and it finally starts but a very weak start. Could the NSS still be the problem or is my battery going bad?
