Default XJ transfer case adjustment

How do you adjust the stock transfer case after lowering it. I lifted it 3.5 iches, now I can get into 4wd, but it slips and jerks around.

A suspension lift has no effect on the transfercase function or linkage. There is no adjustment for the NP231 or the NP242. The linkage yes, but not the t-case itself.

if your talking about a drop t-case setup.... 3.5" is too much drop for the cross-member 2" is about the most you would want to drop the t-case...

Yeah anything over an inch and you likely will bind the linkage. My question is what kind of a surface are you on when it jerks around in 4wd?

I dropped the transfer case 1 inch. now the 4wd doesn't work properly. A mechanic told me to adjust the linkage, HOW? On any surface.
