Cool xj noises with video.. Im no mechanic, can you identify?


is this what engine knock sounds like? I mean like sloppy bearings knock?


Either way it still runs like a boss and I think will for a while. Just curious as to what i'm hearing.

If you have an automatic transmission it could be as simple as loose flex plate to torque converter bolts. That's what it sounds like to me and the right area for that noise to come from

It is a auto, and I did the swap myself and was really anxious to drive my first jeep so I very well could of not torqued the flex plate correctly. It's 80 ft/lbs if I remember right?

After hearing that video in the write up thread I feel so much more relieved.. That's exactly what mine sounds like, i'm gonna get that done tomorrow and see if it helps! Thanks guys!

Make sure to have a bright light with you to check for cracks in the flex plate while you are there.

Flexplate to converter bolts are not 80 ft/lbs.

IIRC, 80 is flexplate to flywheel.
