Default XJ lifting questions

About 2 months ago I put a rough country 3" lift on my 99 XJ with brand new leaf springs, love it looks alot better but I want to fit 33" tires with little or no cutting. So I figured I would put 2" coil spacers in the front, but as far as the rear should I get extended shackles or add-a-leafs? Ive heard some bad things about extended shackles wearing out your springs but ive also heard addaleafs dont give you too much hieght, which should I choose? Im willing to cut to fit 33s but how much will I need?

Get the shackle relocation brackets. They as 2-3" of lift and give better shackle angle and flex.

Shackel relocation brackets? Ive never heard of those? Ill do some research but does that pretty much make he shackel closer to the front to bend the leafs more? And would I still be able to use the same shackels?

It leaves the springs in the same spot but it allows you to correct the angle of the shackles. I use stock shackles but they can hit the brackets sometimes just due to their shape.

This probably doesn't fit in oem tech by the way because it has to do with after market products and modifications. Just FYI.

No, they give 1-1.5 at the most and that's with a vertical shackle angle. OP, just trim your fenders. At 5 inches you need to change shocks, control arms, driveline, brake lines, and sway bar links

Mine gave a lot more than 1.5. I have full springs and the kit and I had to add 2" spacers up front and it still sits below the rear.

Well the RC ones are junk and im guessing you still have a terrible shackle angle with that much lift. Besides this, you still need everything i mentioned above.

Trim your little heart out. And bumpstop. Or don't go as big as 33s. Going higher than 3" is going to cost you a lot of money for all the parts already mentioned above.

I have great angle actually and no issues. To each their own.

He's wanting to add a little more lift for 33s anyways. He just wants minimal modification, but you can't avoid that at the height he's considering.

Bump stops limit the up travel of your axles by giving them something to hit in between that's attached to the frame.

Oh duh =/ I knew that. But pretty much my options are spend a truckload of money for another 2 inches or so because of the needed parts, cut like mad, or just go with 31"s?
