xj door question
you just bolt the latch you have on now. the 96 and below cherokees have a one bolt striker. the 97+ have a 2 bolt striker. if you take out the stock one and get the same size bolt you can bolt the 97+ one on with that same bolt hole. you just use the top hole. when its all aligned you can drill a second hole and put a second bolt in but mine is holding up with just one. ill get a picture.

sorry i forgot to take one todaylook at the striker in this picture.

notice how its just a bolt with a striker on the end
now if you look at the striker in this pic its different. its like U that has to bolt holes on each end. i just bolted it on using just the top bolt hole and everything aligned properly.

when i do final alignment and paint i will probably drill another hole and put another bolt in but for now this does work fine

awesome, thanks. what about the hinges on the newer door. did you reuse yours, or have to use the newer hinge?
