For the guys with the older XJs. How do you remove your gauge needles without breaking them? I kinda messed up last night and now most of my gauges don't work lol. I'm buying a new cluster and I want to do the LEDs, which I'll do before I put it in. And is there a way to power the cluster before I put it in? To test the lights?

You don't... You have to remove the whole cluster.

Well then. I feel pretty ****ing stupid lol.

Pardon my language but I messed my cluster up due to not being fully informed. Knowledge is power! thanks for that! I was worried of ripping some wires if I fully removed it. I feel a lot more confident now ordering my new cluster.

So I know for future reference. How is the removal of the entire cluster? Do I need to tug on it? Be extra careful somewhere?

Cheers!

Now I know that! Haha. Do I have to worry about the gauge cluster connections breaking or anything when removing?

Thanks

Yay! lol Sorry, I'm just nervous about the new cluster. But your pic helps a lot.

Cheers

Aside from the issue I ran into.. It looks really nice. I can't wait to have LEDs and a functional gauge!

I wish I would have gone with white, that looks real nice!!!

Here's mine. The red looks nice, but keep in mind, it seems very dull, which for me, I like. Seems like it's going to be a lot easier on the eyes than a blue might be. Mine is a 1990 Cherokee Laredo. Took x9 in the cluster of the 194s, kept the 3 original white ones in for the turn signals and high beams. Have not done the shifters yet seeing as how I ran out of LEDs. Will have to order more from Amazon. Less than $10 shipped for x10 of the reds. Sorry for the blurriness...

You're definitely missing a few needles there. But yeah... The cluster is held on by 4 screws. Take em out and pull the cluster out...
