Give us more details. Many things are blamed on the computer when it is something else.
Computer is on the firewall on the left side as you face the engine from the front.

Sure the computer can fail, but it is a very reliable component in general; I wouldn't worry about it as they are awfully hardy.
Most will last the life of the vehicle.
And if one is to fail, you can usually source one from a salvage yard.
