Sherlock Holmes would say: "it's elementary, my dear Watson"..
You have either the chryscorp 8.25 or the dana 35. If the pumpkin bottom is rounded= D35, if it has square edges= 8.25.
Shackles can't be reversed on a cherokee.

#1 Please take a photo of the center differential on your jeep. It is easier to identify then by year and option.

#2 No, I don't think they work that way.

Use it every day. Restoring up for my wife to drive she likes it better then one of my big pickups New track bar and track bar bracket. I think its a vibration caused by drive tires suddenly locking up. does'nt seem to be coming from the front???? Will check on steering damper anyway. That's a part I've never replaced. thanx

I am helping my friend bring his 86 cherokee back to life, but he has no keys for it... He has purchased a new ignition lock cylinder for the rig on his own accord. Is this going to be the way to go? Will he need more than just the cylinder? If so how hard is it to replace, or is there a special tool that is needed. Any help would be great. I tried searching but couldnt find much on it. Any help is appreciated even if its a link to a thread I should have been able to find. Thanks in advance.

I received 1 key with my 2000 Sport. Did the sport come standard with a remote door lock fob?

Where is the best place to get a second key made and a replacement fob? Hopefully not the dealer.

My '01 Sport had a key fob when I got it, used. It looked about as original as a lot of early keyless entries (which were sourced from other manufacturers, just like half the other stuff in the car). However, the battery was dead, and I've never bothered to replace it. There's nothing special about the key, just go to any decent hardware store and get it copied for about a buck. More fobs seem to be a dealer thing.

i was underneath the jeep and inspecting the steering for any loose or worn parts and i noticed that i'm leaking a bit of oil, appears to come from around the filter. is this a common issue? or were there any notorious bad fittings or oil pan gaskets? i'm going to get the oil changed so i know it has the right filter on it but i thought i'd ask first.

Hi. I have an 87 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer, and I've had constant electrical problems with this thing. The most recent episode started when my radio shut off one day. The next day, the digital clock wasn't working. Later, the AC blower stopped blowing, the turn signals quit signaling, and the windshield wipers stopped wiping. I have checked every fuse I can think of. I'm at a loss (admittedly, electronic issues are not my strong point). Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!
