Ok, so I'm retarded and can't seem to find the answer when I search....
I have a 1999 sport with the 6cly, auto, and 8.25 rear end. What tranny do I have?

so not quite used to the xj yet, just bought it a month ago so i just need someone to double check my logic, my fuel gauge is off by alot (when im almost empty i still have about 7 gallons left in the tank) does a 2001 cherokee sport have just the float right on the fuel pump or how are they set up? and what is the easiest way 2 get to the fuel pump assy?

$175-$250 depending on where you buy it and what year cherokee it's for.
Search for "Jeep Cherokee Fuel Sending Unit" - you're looking for the complete module with pump. I looked quick and i don't think anyone sells just the sending unit.

I can't answer that definitively for you. You need to look. Do you have a "Part Time 4x4" and a "Full Time 4x4" spot on the range selector? Or does it just say "4HI". If you have a choice of full time 4x4, you have a NP242 transfer case. If you just have a "4HI" choice, you have a NP231.
The better way to verify though is to get under the jeep and look at the transfer case. There is a large round metal tag on the back that has the model number stamped on the top line.

Drive shaft lengths
My 1998 jeep cherokee 5 speed 4x4 I just bought came with the rear drive shaft out. Seller said he lost the orignal and the one he gave me was not orignal to the truck. It seems to short, it will work but to much of the spline is showing and I dont want it to ruin the tail shaft. Is there a difference between 2 door and 4 door or manual and auto trans? Thank you for your time and responce.

Without removing the drum break wheel cylinder, how do you determine what size bore it has, 7/8's or 13/16's are the choices at the parts counter. It's an 89 Larado 4.0 w/AX15 trans. No tow package ???????
