And my question to anybody is that on the throttle body theres the controler thingy on the outside with three cables coming off of it. One of them goes to the right front corner under the hood and to some round thingy and the thing has vacume hoses coming off of it and one of the hoses goes to a black bottle thing that was on the back side of my bumper and its about the size of a 2 liter bottle. What is the bottle for and what is the thing the cable connects to on the opposite end than the throttle body for? Any help would be appreciated.
e3 plugs have no benefit in the 4.0L engine, and may actually make it run worse. Stick with the stock champion copper plugs for 84-99 Cherokees and stock NGKs for the 2000-2001 coil pack setup.

and to your question, that's your cruise control module under the hood, and the canister is a vacuum reservoir.

Then UnBolted what i thought was some kind of valve then found out that its the ccv orafice on the Intake manifold. I thought it was a valve when in fact it is just a calculated orafice . So cleaned it nice and slow.... p.s. Its a hole straight through on mine and prob yours so skinny screw driver or scribe work wonders then ran cleaner through it. HOLY CRUD when i put it back on it was like a brand new J**P. I did eventually hang my head low and buy the ccv on the valve cover and tube from dealer and that even made it better that back tube is really important also my gas milage went up after that and response.

If you have any questions regarding this anyone just ask me i will take it off and take pictures or show in tech breakdown what it is!
Pm me with pics of steps and what you removed. I took my intake off and notice my air filter was literally dripping wet in oil, also my intake manifold was completely covered in oil on the inside when looking through the throttle body. Just bought the jeep a few weeks back. Prev owner didn't take good care if it.

Thanks thats really odd but ok. And my jeep is a 92 xj and I cant find any cruise controll button or switch. have any idea where it is? I am trying to eliminate things it doesent need and things I do not care for so do you know if it would be ok to remove all of that specific system?

Why would you eliminate it if it works? Pretty handy on a trip.

I dont make trips very often. Im 17 and Im slowly making this my off road rig. Dont drive very far much at all. 10 miles to school and backs about it. live on a good deal of land so dont have to travel far to go off roading. dont need cruise controll. And I like to have as little electronics as possible. And more room in the engine bay.

now before this she was just fine, i finally got everything figured out and she was running great. after the washing, she vibrates horribly upon any acceleration, and the vibration increases as the speed increases. the sounds its making sound like its coming from the valves and the muffler. diagnosis, my friends?
also noticed when the engine is cold the vibration is minimal, when it warms up is when it gets bad...

I picked up a $500 beater yesterday. It's about what you'd expect for that price. It's got BAD front end vib's starting at 55 mph, and there is a slight to moderate (can hear with windows up) rub rub sound from the front left end...I checked the brakes, rotors, dust cover and tires...help me out here what should I look at next?

ooooh i don't think so. They are different trannies (A904/TF904 3 speed in the '86 and AW4 4 speed in the '89), and different engines (different bellhousing requirements, pcm, tcm, etc.). Pretty much everything is different on them.

His best bet would probably be to rebuild the A904 or find another one. IIRC there's pretty good aftermarket/rebuild support for this tranny because some racers use them.
