I priced out Moog parts for the exact same parts, and it looks like its going to cost me $140 not even including tax. $50 is a pretty significant difference and I was planning on using the ZJ steering to get me through the summer off-road season, and winter daily-driver season.

Do you guys think the ebay kit will be fine for a year while I save up for 1-ton steering?? It looks like all the joints are greasable which is much better than the junk Duralast stuff I could get for a similar price

Anyone have any tips on removing floor pans quick and clean? Looking to use the cargo pan off of a parts jeep on mine but don't see any way of getting it out to reuse without drilling out every spot weld.

sawzall the pans with excess off the parts jeep then bring it home, & take ur time to drill out the spot welds or whatever and trim it down to size.

Both are at a buddy's shop and I spend about 6 hours there once a week. At worse we're going to use a big piece of scrap metal he has that's just as thick without the dimples.

Personally I would spend the extra doe for the MOOG parts in my experience cheap parts have cheap results and you will just wind up buying it again sooner then you would the better part which will cost more then just buying the better part in the first place
That being said I don't know that brand at all to say if they are quality or not
My advise would be to buy the MOOG parts and be done with it for sure

I finally got to doing the head-cover modification.

Well, there's already a hole in the little flanged tube...but not in the place you said to drill it

Do I still need to drill it?
Do I just cut an inch off of it ??
The picture on cruiser54.com is too small to see if there is anything on that side ( like this hole)

Will this unintentional rear lift cause any driveline problems?
I tried adjusting the springs by setting the full weight of the vehicle on them but it still looks like this:

What springs did you install?

Installed a few years ago. Dorman's. Had the part number and looked it up. Didn't appear to be springs with any kind of lift.

Edit: When I set it down, on the rear shackle's upper bolts, I couldn't really get them to loosen. Bolt just kind of spun.

Ok, really not trying to be ignorant, just learning as I go. But tie rods aren't supposed to have any play, right? I've had a ****ty wobble/shimmy up front from 45 to 55 that I've been trying to pinpoint. Figured it was my tires cause they've worn ****ty, but I just jacked up the front, and I twist both the tie rod and drag link and it moves pretty damn easy. Difficult to get the same play if I try and push it from side to side (tire to tire), but I can twist it no problem.

Normal, I think. I haven't played with XJ steering in a while, but I'm pretty sure it has tie rod roll just like my YJs. Can someone confirm?

Tie rod roll normal. Needs to check side to side up and down forward and back. If it's super easy to roll like one finger that could possibly show wear, but my new stuff was fairly easy to roll with one hand and little effort.
