Front and rear bushings are the same size, same withe the upper arms. Just be careful you don't squash the arm itself when you beat the old bushings out. If you have trouble getting the upper arms back in, jack up the axle so all the vehicle weight is on it, that should swing it far enough forward to get the bolts back in, that's what I had to do on mine.

I did. I have a good trans cooler. I'm also going to be swapping discs on the rear. The trailer is super nice just a few dings but basically brand new with new spare. Ready to roll. Just need to put a hitch on my XJ.
I just bought a '99 Cherokee Sport RHD for use delivering mail. It has some issues that I am steadily sorting out, but one in particular has me a bit vexed and I could use some guidance on where to start.
I've done some research and it seems that the VSS is at least part of my problem, but since I discovered this just today I have not had the time to pull and clean it.
Symptom 1: Reverse lights do not work, though bulbs are good. From what I've read, the VSS is the likely culprit.
Symptom 2: Turn signals work properly, front and rear, when indicating a right turn. For a left turn, the front signals work properly, but both rear turn signal lights flash.
Symptom 3: Speedometer does not work, and odometer is not counting any additional miles (shows 106,724 currently) and trip meter does not work, either.
The entire gauge cluster is also intermittent, though posts I read on this forum indicate that this may be the connector. If the gauges are not alive on start up, they usually come alive if I press the odometer/trip sensor switch.
So, my question is: with the variety of problems that this Jeep has, what would be the best place to start? Cleaning the VSS? And if that's not the first step (or doesn't solve the issues), then what's next?
Working on getting this double cardan shaft ready for my lift. Pulled the centering yoke off amd i can see that all the needle bearings are still in there and there isnt any rust. The rubber sleeve was gone from the shaft however. Should i just spend the $90 for the whole replacement kit or will this part be salvageable?

If you are to that point, it would be sensless not to. Guarenteed right after you put new joints in, the centering joint will go out. Not much fun taking it apart, certainly wouldn't want to do it while being kind to the joints.
Question on some parts to see if they are compatible. I picked up a Trailmaster 3" lift(still in box) for half the price of new and its been sitting in the garage. It will fit my '88, the part # is T/MTM3730-40023. I have 31x10.5 that I will be putting on, my question is there are issues with the front end, vibration's and wobble. If I buy the Moog-PackageDeal207 Front End Steering Pack, will they be compatible without any adjustments or what else will I need to pickup to complete the transformation?
Hi, I'm new here. I've been wanting to buy an XJ as a project fixer-upper/camping/off-roading vehicle when its all done. I found a 1992 XJ on craigslist. It currently does not have an engine in it, but it comes with the original engine plus a good one. It also comes with another transmission and transfer case, but the one that's in it still works.
I was wondering how difficult it is to install a 4.0? I don't have much experience, but I'm pretty mechanically minded and learn fast. I've got all the tools. I also have a non-professional mechanic friend that's willing to help me out and answer questions. His main concern is that since the engine is already out, it will be harder to install correctly since we won't know exactly where everything is.
It's a super good deal, and I like the looks of it, plus the owner definitely seems legit.
Do you think that this is too complicated of a project for a newbie?

4.0 is one of the easiest engine removal and reinstallations I've ever done.
