As usual Cruiser you're my hero. I came to ask this tonight. My 98 limited has been in 4WD exactly once in it's life and it's a PITA to go through the 4WD gears.

Here's how the factory suggests you shift the transfer case and I've been doing this since these things were new and I worked at the dealership. Quoted from the owner's manual.

"To engage, shift the transfer case lever from 2H to 4H while the vehicle is moving at any legal speed". I let off the gas, throw the lever, and then tap the gas and let off.

4L position: " To engage, slow the vehicle to 2-3 MPH , shift the transmission to Neutral, then shift the transfer lever to the right and pull firmly rearward to 4L".

 

Getting in and out of hi FT/PT isn't a big deal. Once you're in low, even using the above method, it doesn't want to come out of low. It gets to the point where in Neutral and stopped you have to use an uncomfortable amount of force.
To lube them do you just go buck wild down there and lube everything or are the certain points to lube?

 

I recently bought a new OEM fender flare, but I'm having some difficulties putting it on. The metal brackets are giving me difficulties. Any suggestions on putting it on?

 

Every pivot point you can find is good. What'd ya gonna use on it?

 

I just modified my stock cables and clamped them down with U bolts lol

I had the same quandry. It's really easy if you take the bracket off and put the flare onto it, then install the bracket and flare as a unit. Problem is if you have any rust the studs on the brackets will just shear off when you try to spin the nuts off. If this happens don't panic, drill them out and put #10 stove bolts through.

I bet the board went bye bye. Might have lost the solder on them.

 

I thought the issue with the solder essentially made it to where the window lock was always on
