Well, it's a hell-a better than the factory one LOL.
After two weeks, in no particular order.
1. The XJ still starts on first spark. And did so from the end of the replacement job: nothin' but net.
2. It fit. Really well (I had to cut an inch or so off the muffler end, but that was related to the factory u-bolts pinching the muffler intake pipe so bad that I had to cut 1-and-a-half inches off that too ...plus getting the original cat' off the back pipe was a huge PITA). No "real" issues with fit & finish. Supposedly stainless. Slightly smaller than OEM (so factory heat shield did not work ...good that Magnaflow engineering included an upper, welded-on shield).
3. Bolt together assembly (I have a welder, but I'm pretty sure my welding skills have atrophied over the past half century lol). Big plus: we like bolts and stuff.
4. Quiet. It's quiet while starting. It's quiet while driving (accelerating, cruising, and coasting). It's quiet while switching off. We likes the quiet.
5. Less embarassing (the Cherokee would ching-ching-ching down the road, and bumps were worse: I hate ching-ching-chinging cars) ...I admit to being a bit stiff-necked about my cars these days sounding like I was a penniless teenager "making do" ...even though in this economy I'm only marginally better off LOL.
6. The biggie: my wife likes driving, and being driven in, the Cherokee! ~She noticed lol. (She's actually now asking me when I'm going to get to the suspension renewal/upgrade "project" ...she wants a less jarring ride. Folks, we have a winner.)
I knew nothing about cat's until I started really reading some of the threads here on 'em. Highly recommended. Good advice. Plentiful & free. Thanks again all-you-know-who-you-are!
...as for the "better mileage with new cat" thing. Too soon to tell. And I think I should have reset my ECU as recommended (which may still be "thinking" its the old one) ...which I'm going to do before I remark on mpg's (mine sucked, and I'm inclined to think it still does, but I haven't had a chance yet to do a full-tank-to-full-tank drive cycle yet, so no bad marks).
And though that judgment is still on hold, I'd buy another Magnaflow tomorrow (if I needed another). So ...recommended.

DING DING DING....
Out of all you just said, that's the most important. Lol.
My wife is pregnant right now and suffering some severe nausea, and can't ride in the jeep for too long.

...get her a new cat', new springs & new shocks. She'll be wonderously grateful to yez. Plus ...you'll have new cat', new springs & new shocks. Win-win.

Lots of quality parts made in South Korea in different industries.
Also for what it's worth, there is a difference in quality between Chinese brands. It all depends on "built to spec", same as Champion oil filters (FRAM spec and Mobil1 spec).
Huawei handset? Cheap piece of garbage
Apple iPhone? Solid, quality unit.
Both made in China! Well maybe some parts in Taiwan
(Note I'm not encouraging anybody to send their hard earned cash into the abyss in a one-sided trade relationship, just providing some food for thought)

As for Chinese products, I'll happily buy a wok made there, I will not even think about buying a DWV fitting (let alone cu pressure fittings) sold by Home Depot and made in china due to their perpensity toward failure, nor consider a critical mechanical part for any of my vehicles. Hell, I know Chinese that won't buy crap made there, and they were born in xianhong!!! So yeah, no thanks.
