Is this normal for the 2001 models???? When I used to have my 1997 xj the oil gauge would always stay at 40. Any help?
My 2000 does exactly the same thing as your 2001. Early last winter, my pressure switch went out, and the pressure dropped to nothing. After replacing it, it went back to actively fluctuating as the engine revs. Its completely normal that your oil pressure goes up when you're on the gas.

Your 97 was probably bad, and this Cherokee is probably good actually.

You should be seeing 40-55 while driving (depending if you getting on it) and 30-40 at idle. Below 25 would concern me.

Jacking up a stock XJ during a flat tire. I hate confusing OEM jacks and prefer to carry a "real" jack in the trunk. Can you use a standard $30 mini-jack from Autozone? Or do XJ's need a special jack?

The jack in the pic I fine. Just put the jack on the axle tube and make sure that the tube is resting between the teeth on the pad not on top of them.

+1 I just have this $40 Michelin 2-ton floor jack with a rubber pad. Works great frame and axle, though a bit short.

I just did an oil change with a k&n, noticed the same thing. I didn't notice any leaks there when the PO had a STP on there. Maybe its because the K&n is white? I dunno. I have a leave out of my valve cover soooo... guess I should fix that first.

I ran a k&n one time, I didn't have a problem with it, but I found out its a rebadged puralator or Mobil 1 or something, I'll stick with the 4 dollar puralator classic.

The O ring goes on this adapter to the block. Mine hardened up and leaked real bad lol. T60 bolt holds it in and a pipe on the end of a wrench to get more leverage. Not too hard honestly
