Stabilizer only hides the real problem , check the bolt on the axle side and even if it seems tight pull the bolt and check the hole to see if it's wallowed out at all because if it is no matter how tight the bolt is it will still shake , that was my problem after headache upon headache , its a simple fix if you

Why, is the ball joint shot? If it hasn't play it is ok.

Let off brakes slowly to start rollin and BANG! Shook the whole ride it seemed.
I tried reshifting and letting off brakes and again BANG! Wife said it looked like the driver side wiper even jumped a bit lol.
Trans in N, Tossed 'er back in high (bit of a grind as almost usual) and drove out.

When I got back to pavement, everything worked fine but I did kind of roll in to low.

Was that just gears trying to engage from a stop or is something wrong?

I know these XJs make noises but don't know what normal is yet ya know?
It's normal, it is due to the binding on dry pavement.

I removed the mini console easily. I'm having trouble getting the new one in. It seems that the "heat vents" right underneath the ash tray are in the way. I took out the ash tray and removed one screw from the center. I also removed one screw from the passenger side of these heater vents or ducts. It gets a little loose but I can't get it out. I don't want to pull too hard and break something.
should I remove this?
If yes how?
Remove the whole lower dash panel, it's a dozen of screws..

Sounds like your transfer case fluid may be low as well. I'd start with checking the fluid level.

Default Swing out spare wheel on 02 Cherokee Ltd

I would like to remove the humungous spare wheel carrier and carry a space saver.
This is a Cherokee Ltd/Patriot body type running dual-fuel.
Has anyone ever removed one? How about re-siting the license plate and illumination?

You mean it has a carrier on the back? That's not stock location - so someone added that at some point. Stock location is against the driver's side rear fender (inside)

Default What are these panels called?

I'd like to know what these panels are called (attached picture) and where I could maybe order replacements. My hood was overextended and dented them, but can't find replacements anywhere. Local salvage yards no luck.

You can't order replacements for just that panel, there is not way to separate it. You need to get the entire cowl top panel. Better solution would be to pull out the dents

Hi Yall. Ive been looking for leaf springs for my 96 xj. Quadratec seems to have the best deal, 215.93 includes springs, all 4 bushings, and shipping. I dont want add-a-leaves. I plan to do a mild 2-2.5 lift later. Looking to save some money in the long run.

The bang happened on trail. Just dirt/pilth.
It's wasn't really a super low traction surface just a steep hill so I shifted down for reduction so as not to burn up the brakes. More to show the wife how "engine braking" worked than any other need.

I'll check fluid, but there's absolutely no leaks and last I checked a couple months ago was still full with Royal Purple.

Still just binding a bit on trail ya think?

Default 93 cherokee sport back passenger door stuck

this door would only open from the inside when i bought it, i accidentally hit a switch inside the door & "child proofed" it the last time it was open. it doesn't open from the outside, and now it doesn't open from the inside either. i can unlock the lock, but the door still won't open. any suggestions?

It's not going to be fun. You will need to fish a rod or something down into the door internals to find the latching rod, and move it the right way to open the door. Try to find a diagram of the internals, or take the other door panel off so you can see how it works and what you need to do to open it.

you can also try to carefully pull the panel from the middle, right under the window until you can fit your arm down the hole to pull up on the linkage it should unlatch you might need someone else to pull it open as you hold your arm in there
