hello guys, I'm helping a friend to get a water pump as he claims it is broken, the mechanic took it off and he sent me some pics to buy him a new one





I was looking for one using his vin 1J4FFN8M2XL515999 but nothing looks like this part!!
is this a water pump at all??
any help appreciated

when i visited the car and took a look, this is the thermostat housing not the water pump

 

So when you first posted I was pretty sure that was not a water pump. LOL.
Looks like nothing I have ever seen.
So my guess was a 2.5 diesel. Which I am pretty sure I see in the Build Sheet.
So going with that I am thinking that you have two separate parts there and they
are #'s 8 and 10 on that parts diagram below from my '99 parts catalog.
If that is the case hopefully having the part numbers will help you find them.
And to make another guess I am thinking that you need #8 or more then you need #10
