Speak with an attorney and see a good doctor. The xj is totaled, but there's plenty still out there.

Biggest thing is making sure they cover your medical stuff if any is needed.

at least you got hit in a Jeep. think of the potential personal damage you would have sustained in a PRIUS. glad to hear you're OK

definatley get checked out by a physician. more than likely you're fine, but if for what ever reason you did get hurt, like your neck or back... it makes you case to "sue the hell outta them!" better standing. delaying a physical exam means to them that maybe you hurt your back some other time after the accident and are trying to blame it on them.
(trust me i handle workmans comp cases all the time)

on the other hand, don't be a douchenozzle and sue some one for a few bucks. thats whats wrong with the world

i hope everything comes out good. ezactly why i refuse to drive in ironton. (town around here) so many wrecks because people rufuse to think, and pull out in front of ya. totaled the chick that pulled out in front of my mum. put the chicks rear door in the middle of the back seat and the rear end out the passengers side. which i guess is why i refuse to drive there till i get a upgraded front bumper (for local a-hole 4wheeler kids, deer and cars).

sucks to hear that.. my jeep was just wrecked on the 25th... which is my bday lol

i was mindin my own business drivin down the highway and an f150 pulled out in front of me, i didnt have time to swerve or hit the brakes so i smashed into him @50 mph, skidded across the road and then hit a volvo head on. i had a pretty beast pushbar/brushguard on the front of my jeep.. if not for that i prolly woulda been a goner myself. even all the stuff behind the pushbar is completely gone, but the pushbar is still there.

as soon as i told the insurance companies it was a 94 cherokee they were like 'ya, based on the description of the accident and the year of the vehicle its almost definitely a total loss.

sorry to hear bout ur jeep :/
my next XJ is gonna have a mean a$$ pushbar and i'll keep that sucker off the street as much as freakin possible. people are idiots !!

if your damage looks anything like mine, its probably a goner.
keep in mind that 'cuz of the pushbar i had, the frame took most of the damage.. the dash is tweaked, the center console is crooked, none of the doors open anymore, etc etc etc..

the guy who hit you's insurance is liable for the damage/loss to your vehicle.. if its totalled you're owed the kbb + a prorated amount of the $ you've invested into it.

another important thing to at least be aware of, as im facing the exact same dilemna.. you were in a 3car accident that was caused by 1 person. that person has to pay for all the property damage and all the medical bills for both vehicles (not counting his own unless he has full coverage).. some people carry only basic $10K coverage.. which can run out pretty quick and then your left having to sue the driver for remaining damages.

Ouch dude, your jeep is way worse off than mine is. Thats sad to see, it looked like a nice xj. I pulled all my lift and everything off months ago so its stock now so i dont really have much money into it anymore.

Afaik the lady who hit me has full coverage so my jeep and trip to the hospital last night will be covered. The person i was pushed into was driving a Ford utility truck with a liftgate on the back so all he had was some paint scraped off it looked like.

your jeep is likely totalled.. as much as i love XJ's the older ones just arent worth that much so they can only sustain a little bit of damage before insurance tells you it's 'not worth fixing'. once damage exceeds 75% of ~$2000 ($~1500) its totalled. dig up those receipts for parts you've replaced in the last year, you'll get a portion of that $ back. autozone & advance auto can print up your history for you for free if youre like me and throw receipts away lol.

but rest assured your jeep could be completely fixed with one trip to the junkyard and an afternoon of wrenching if you were to keep it anyway.
