I'm having a problem locating aftermarket seating options for my 98 Cherokee. There are multiple seating and cover choices for Wranglers, so I'm thinking it may be easier to find Wrangler seats that are direct bolt-ins for my 98 XJ. Any experience?

 

I bought a set of Rugged Ridge leather ones at a scratch and dent sale for $50. Took the frames off the bottom of the XJ and tried to install them on the TJ seats. Frames are to narrow from the XJ. Apparently the TJ is wider and flater in the floorpan area where the seats go. So I tried to drill some new holes in the seat frames, but the slide mechanism wouldn't work or connect....XJ to narrow. I think 4wd hardware sells some frame adapters for certain seats (not sure which ones) if you want Wrangler style, but I've heard guys say that the Grand Cherokee seats are a great uprgrade and a "bolt-in" swap.
