We have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, 98K miles. The last 2 or 3 morning there has been the slightest hesitation when I've started it up. The weather this past week is much cooler (60's) and wetter than in the past couple months. This morning there wasn't enough juice to even open the car door using the remote. It didn't make any noise when I tried starting it. That was about 9AM. Now it is almost 4PM (and 10 degrees warmer). The sun has been on the hood of the car for a few hours. I went to start it and it started right up. Well it kind of coughed and sneezed a little and almost stalled when I took my foot off the gas, but after a few minutes it is running ok.

The battery indicator on the dash looks normal.

I'm no mechanic. If the battery is going - is it possible that the sun's heat somehow affected the battery (in a good way) ?

id get that battery tested... and sometimes when the ecm loses voltage it has to relearn its idle parameters and after a few seconds it idles fine.
