is this worth my $$?
whats up? i hope everyone is enjoying there summers so far.. i just stumbled across an engine from a friend on here and im pretty sure im getting it on thursday. well mother nature took its toll on the engine over the past year... the engine has around 8000 miles on it and theres a little rust and dirt but over all a good snag in my book.
now the question is... would this be worth my money if im lookin to almost completely re-do this new block? ANY input is good to me! thanks

Since this is the money draining hobbie we all enjoy, I say go for it and post a build thread on your new engine....lots of photos and "how to's".

the intake and exhaust lift is too large on that cam unless your planning to rebuild your head with different valves, springs, and rocker arms

You cant use the valve springs that come with that kit, they are designed for the 258 (4.2 ) head youll have to go with Mopar Performance springs, retainers, locks or look on http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/ search valve springs there are some threads about other types valve springs you can use, one guy is using 3.8l Pontiac springs. You should look at the 68-232 from comp itll give you a decent balance of low end torque and mid range unless you want it to be a little radical but you are gonna give up some bottom end power but its up to you, just a heads up

thats similar to the one im gonna build, except im using 677CP Pistons, and the comp cams 68-232 I just have to decide on valve springs and im not dishing the pistons I can live with the higher compression ratio since its not my DD by running premium fuel. I fixed the link in my previous post they have a nice compression calculator.
