Default worn track bar id'ing

hey guys so i'm getting to the bottom of my loose steering. Ive got little play in the steering wheel at a stop and low speeds, but the amount of play increases upto highway speeds (at which point the jeep speed stops increasing ) I got under the jeep with a helper and looked for anything that had play in it as they wiggled the wheel and the biggest culprit was the frame mount on the trackbar. i removed and replaced the bushings on both ends with poly type, tightened everything down but after a few weeks its loosened back up, even with the cotter key keeping the nut in place. is this the sign of a worn out track bar? does anyone have a pic of what the frame end looks like once its past its prime? thanks again for the great advice!

Those bushings are replaceable. Replaced mine on my stock trackbar once before I upgraded to my adjustable trackbar.

yeah thats what i've done, is replace the old rubber bushings with new polyurethane type. it's tightened up the steering for a couple weeks and then it starts to go back to its old ways. I thought the frame side looked worn out, just dont know for sure. should i just start looking at getting another track bar and reuse the new poly's?

I'd say it sounds like you have another problem some where else in the steering. If you replace it shouldn't ware out that fast. Sounds like the track bar is taking the blunt of another problem. Maybe ball joints or tie rod ends..

I think Nick may be headed in the right direction. If you check all the bushings and the ball joints and everything checks out good then Just put it back together and drive it a little and then check everything again. Something is loosening up from either wear or improper fit.
