Working out the bugs
Hello all! Lemme' first start by saying that I am grateful for such an informative site!
I recently purchased a '95 Cherokee, for what I think was next to nothing. Well, now I have had it for almost a month and it definitely needs some TLC. Nothing really wrong w/ it. I did find out that the CEL was disabled. I managed to fix that today and got a code reading of 22. The guy told me he just put a new CTS in it. Unfortunately, I guess he didn't realize the wire was cut. Wah lah... fixed that issue today; no more CEL .
Well, I noticed underneath the driver side dash, there was a mess of wires. I fumbled through all of that and found that there was an alarm system; doesn't do me any good (no alarm fob). I removed all of that. All that remains is a relay tying the ignition system together, until I can remove that and run the wire back the way it was.
Now on to the rest...
I'm going to take a guess that the instrument panel isn't the original!?!? I had found about 4 different plugs underneath the dash that are not terminated anywhere... just hanging (2 with a single org/blk wire going to each). Along, w/ a few cut wires under the dash, not being able to find where they go. I have the instrument panel w/ the gauges; not the idiot lights. Wish I could upload photos but my pc isn't recognizing my phone.

PICS!!!
This one is up under the left side of the dash
blue wire cut and don't know where it goes to/from. it seems to be coming out of a bundle of wires coming from under the lower left side of the door plate; also reds wire going straight to a fuse... not sure where it's coming from.
bundle of connectors that were located behind the dash panel, right next to the headlight switch. There are 3 other photos, but having a hard time uploading them.

One more thing
The interior lights do not work (dome/cargo/glove box). The bulbs are good and I have a ground, but nothing on the hot side. I checked the dome light for continuity from one side of the lamp socket to the other and there is continuity. Any suggestions? Maybe a short on that hot line?

The blue wire is for electric trailer brakes. Runs to the back to the trailer plug on the tow package. Also xjs are wired for dealer installed options.

Yes... all fuses are good. I also tried to check my fuses per what
goes where and mine doesn't seem to be in conjunction w/ most diagrams.

Interior lights
After spending hours on trying to find out the issue w/ the interior lights not coming on, it was as simple as a pinched wire... RESOLVED! Yay!
The cargo lamp also comes on when I open either door, but not when I open the liftgate?!?!? Another day!

Yeah, I pressed the switched over and over again, thinking maybe it was worn and not catching but that didn't make any changes. I'll check the liftgate switch a little closer next time; it seemed to open and close freely as I pressed on it. Maybe it isn't grounding to the catch? Or is it supposed to make ground inside the liftgate?
